Giveaway! 29 Free Textured Papers. Comment to Win.

I do a lot of splattering, searing, and soaking to make the paper textures you see here on L+T and on Bittbox. But after I'm done taking pictures/scanning the physical paper I really don't have much use for it. So I'm going to give them away!

A few ideas about what to do with the paper:

  1. Use them in scrapbooks (I know there are at least a few scrapbookers that browse this site)
  2. Modify them and make your own textures.
  3. Pretend they are pieces of art, frame them, and stare at them for hours on end trying to figure out what they are trying to convey.
  4. Make beautiful paper airplanes.
  5. Sell them on Ebay (hey, they're yours after all)

Perhaps you can think of a better idea than what's listed above. Here's a preview of what you'll get in the mail:

How to enter

Just leave me a comment on this post telling me what kinds of textures you'd like me to post more often here on L+T. That's it. Simple eh?

The winner will be picked at random from all the comments, on Wednesday the 14th.

One. Two. Three. Go!!!

Political Poster Design Contest - Over $1000 in Prizes!

Introduction

I'm pleased to announce Lost and Taken's first design contest. We have all the ingredients for an awesome competition: Cool prizes? Check. Interesting theme? Check. Handsome judge? Check. Sounds like we are good to go.

The Theme

As many of you know, on November 4th the United States will elect a new president to take charge for the next four years. Both candidates have differing views on many of the prominent social, economic, and political troubles that plague our time, and they both offer their own solutions to these problems as well as their own prospect for hope and prosperity in the future. Keeping these ideas (and the following examples) in mind, the task for this contest is to design a political poster that pertains to the important issues of our time, i.e. the election 08, war in Iraq, the economic crisis, global warming, etc. There's only one catch: you must use one of the textures from Lost and Taken in your design. You can alter the textures however you like and they don't have to be (and shouldn't be) the prominent feature of your design, just so long as you use one ;)
